Our Apartments Friends Tatry are located in the town of Veľká Lomnica. Based on this location, there is no need for interesting places around. The town is located halfway between Poprad and Kežmark. But about that later. Now we will mainly focus on the nearest surroundings and places that can be beneficial to you during your stay. Larger grocery store Sintra is only a few minutes’ walk away from the apartments. There you will find everything you could possibly need, including a counter with chilled meat and cold cuts, as well as alcoholic, non-alcoholic drinks and fresh pastries every day until the evening.
An ATM is available on the corner of the grocery store. A little further down in the town there is also a butcher, drugstore, bakery, post office and much more. The town itself is larger in size and in population, so we believe that you will have everything you need at hand. We hope that this last tip you will not need, but just in case there is also a pharmacy and a health center in town.
Restaurants and other places to go, for example in the evening for one chilled beer
If you decide not to cook today, we have a few tips for you. We definitely recommend the nearby pizzeria Orchidea as a place for a delicious dinner, which has really great pizza or pasta. The pizzeria has a “naturalized” Italian who cooks only from quality ingredients, which you taste from the very beginning. However, be prepared for a slightly slower service and also do not rely on the fact that there will be pizza available 30 minutes before closing time.

Trips around the area or where to go for coffee
As we mentioned at the beginning, our town is a link between Poprad and Kežmark. It is 8 km by car in both directions. Poprad is the capital of the High Tatras, the largest city in the area with 2 shopping malls, including the Decathlon store, where you can buy the missing clothes or hiking equipment for cheaper. Also 8 km, but in a different direction, in the direction of the High Tatras is Tatranská Lomnica with a ski resort and several hiking paths, including the beginnings of various hiking tours.
When you reach the main road in Tatranská Lomnica, you can continue in the direction of Starý Smokovec, where you will find the funicular to Hrebienok or when you continue even further, you will reach Popradské pleso or the more famous Štrbské pleso. Or you can visit Kežmarok with its castle or the articular church registered in the UNESCO list or visit the beautiful castle in Stará Ľubovňa.
In the opposite direction we have Levoča with the altar of Master Paul and other monuments, or you can visit Spišská Nová Ves and grab a cup of coffee downtown. In the end, we offer Spiš Castle, which is really large and the children will enjoy running around the castle area there while you take beautiful photos for your family album or Instagram. As you can see, we have something to do and something to see for everyone. And that is just a beginning of the list.
